FAQ

How do I adopt a family?

Thank you for supporting the victims of hurricane Irma and Maria in the USVI. To adopt a family please click here.

How long will it take for me to receive my adopted family?

Please allow us anywhere from 24-48 hours for us to match you with a family and to receive an email confirmation. Please check your SPAM/JUNK folder.

Is it okay to start mailing now?

Yes, feel free to mail your package as soon as possible.

I didn’t receive much detail about my family. Can you be more specific?

We recommend you send something that isn’t size specific and that is considered a generic basic needs item for everyday use.

Are you a 501(c)3?

We are not currently a 501(c)3 as we began as just a small group of volunteers.  As this project took on legs of its own, we have started the process of becoming a 501(c)3 organization but it has not been completed yet.  Until we have received our final letter and tax ID donations are not yet tax deductible.

Can I donate money to your cause?

We have recently begun to accept monetary donations.  As our application for 501(c)3 status is not yet complete, donations are not yet tax deductible.

How will we be able to confirm that the boxes are received by families in the VI?

When you ship your box be sure keep the ticket slip so you can track your package and its delivery.

Where are you based out of?

We are group of former and current St. Thomas residents helping out! The initiative was created by Sabrina and John Jureidini and Pam Engle. We have additional volunteers who were all displaced by hurricane Irma and Maria helping out behind the scenes. We are all based throughout different states in the US. Our true home however is St Thomas. We are doing what we can to help from afar and to help rebuild and restore the islands.

Are boxes going to St. John?

Yes, our boxes are going to all three Virgin Islands, St. John, St. Thomas and St. Croix.  However, we can guarantee that boxes WILL go to St. John if you request it. We will try our best to accommodate your request for a preferred island.

Can we send dog food/cat food?

The Humane Society of St Thomas is willing and able to take any donations for pet related care.  Please contact them at:

How can I ship to my loved ones?

You may ship directly to your loved ones in the Virgin Islands now that the postal service is restored. You can send USPS, FedEx, UPS or by freight.  We do not handle transport directly.

Is there a list of goods that are to be collected?
